Meaningful Art with a Narrative

Gloria is a Mixed Media Artist that uses encaustic wax as her primary medium to create small and large format paintings that come from her own questioning and narrative wanting to dig deeper into the empathic nature of being. Her work celebrates life and brings it to a more universal level. She works in series, each series answers one question.

EDIT.! - The Newest Collection

EDIT is a challenge.

It is in the editing where the masterpiece rises. Whether carving that massive stone in order to find the incredible raw jewel inside. Or, the film editor who took hundreds of takes, and got them transformed into a plausible story in the editing room. What should go and what should stay… that is the question.

Editing our life is difficult, when our culture promotes more of everything. More friends, more cars, more clothes, more trips, more stuff… But that does not define our essence.

It is in the EDIT we find Balance.

At my stage of the continuum I need light. In order to find light, I need space. In order to achieve space I need to EDIT what I own, what I practice, who I relate to, who I truly love, and where my energy is placed.

In this series I had to edit color, and leave the memories embedded in the many layers of wax which ultimately tell the story.

Call for Humanity

This collection is a ceramic project created during the Covid-19 Pandemic of 2020. I needed my art to be my vehicle of expression. My humble representation of a united world community standing up against racism and division. For equal rights for everybody. To come together with science, nature and the protection of Mother Earth.

With this body of work I hope to connect with the viewer, through the underlying emotion that inspired me to create the work. To celebrate diversity, justice, acceptance, empathy, honesty, compassion, life, equality, strength and so much more.

The sculptures vary in height between 12” and 14” with just a very few that might be  10” or 16” high.

Testimonials

“ I bought my first piece from Gloria 20 years ago when we both lived in Ct. I was moved by her exquisite style and originality. I have added to our collection - paintings and ceramics-over the years and gifted her pieces to my children. Gloria is an exceptional artist with a unique, exciting and intensely personal style She blends her work with an obvious love and acknowledgment of history and heritage whilst simultaneously giving her work a modern and fresh twist: she always reminds us of our humanity and of what is important .. love and family 🩷
