The Feminine
In many creation myths around the world, the creator is said to be a female so powerful that she does not need a male. In others, the creator is said to be neither male or female but both. Surveys of the Great Goddess that overlook this androgynous aspect neglect one of her most important features. Much of her greatness is due to being the supreme unity that transcends all opposites; she is the universal synthesis of all particulars. In popular mythology, she generates all; she is all matter that exists in space and time. Esoterically, she is both all that can be known and the knower; the knower and the known are one.
